Longines presents the history of Portugal clock

Under the patronage of the General Directorate of Heritage, Longines presented during a gala dinner at the Jeronimos Monastery its latest tribute to our history.

Portugal has a rich cultural heritage and it is very expensive to Longines, which for some years has been launching special editions devoted to our country, either to celebrate figures like Dom Afonso Henriques or the Marquis de Pombal, are historical events as the first air crossing of the South Atlantic or the establishment of the Republic, among other events, figures and places. This time the choice fell on the whole set of our built heritage, summarized here by the presence of five medals made in Portugal evocative of our five monuments classified as world heritage by Unesco. Namely: Jeronimos Monastery, Convent of Christ in Tomar, Batalha Monastery, Alcobaça Monastery and the University of Coimbra.

As for the clock, we found the back of the box, the presence of the Armillary Sphere, most national symbol, which allows even see their movement by sapphire glass. Here also comes the recording of the part serial number. This is an automatic chronograph (Calibre L688) with hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o'clock and date. The power reserve is 54 hours and 41 mm steel case. The strap is in black crocodile skin with closing triple folding. The price of this edition "Portugal - Our History" is 3950 euros and is for sale in the boutique of watches, and the 75 units left only 73. The number 1 was for the Boutique watches and issue number 75 was offered during the presentation to the Portuguese State, specifically the Directorate General of Heritage.
