Smartwatches: a peaceful revolution

The year has not even ended and already many clocks releases related to the universe of smartwatches. Two thousand and fifteen, for sure, will be remembered as the year in which the major watchmaking are giving the technology of smart watches. At first, with the announcement of Apple Watch in 2014 perceived to certain rejection of traditional brands in entering this industry and was heard in the discussion groups among experts that the partnership between the watchmaking and technology companies I could not work. "The mechanical watch may lose its glamor," commented some, and the most extremist said: "the history of fine watchmaking may have its end."

But this same survey revealed a scenario that few wanted to see: a year ago, only 11% of executives surveyed were concerned about the competitive threat of smartwatches, today, 25% of respondents are aware of the results of this integration in the watch market. The study only showed what everyone knew: the smartwatches are here to stay and the smartest way to face a new market is to join him. It was exactly the solution found by some brands. Montblanc, Frédérique Constant, IWC and TAG Heuer are among the pioneers. They started breaking this new world, still cautiously, which would be most expected when dealing with such traditional brands.

Today we can say that some of the high watchmaking brands are the "darlings" of Silicon Valley, California. And they joined the best, are already partnering with companies like Google, Intel Inside, Samsung and Apple.

This watch was responsible for much buzz in the watchmaking world in 2014. As every release of Apple, much wondered before his presentation. The model was created to connect with the latest handsets from the company, but the interesting part of this is the attempt of the mark in bringing it to the universe of traditional watches. New for this year is the partnership with the Maison Hermès. Known for its leather products, the French brand created the Apple Watch Hermès Collection. The piece will be available with a bracelet, two laps or style "cuff", registered trademarks of Hermès. This type of partnership further proves that smartwatches are gradually coming to the luxury universe.
